Counseling and Consultation for Persons with Special Needs

■Individual Counseling and Consultation for Persons with Special Needs Services   that National Center for Special Needs Education is Expected to Handle
  • Counseling and consultation for persons with special needs as a field of clinical research, counseling and consultation with special needs services for persons with rare disabilities or for cases referred from prefectures.
  • Counseling and consultation for persons with special needs for caregivers of disabled persons living overseas or enrolled in schools for overseas Japanese nationals.
■Support Services for Counseling and Consultation for Persons   with Special Needs Agencies at the Prefectural Level
  • Comprehensive assessment for the support of persons with disabilities, as well as consultation pertaining to counseling and consultation for persons with special needs.
  • Provision of information concerning counseling and consultation for persons with special needs through the publication of guidebooks and manuals.
■Research on Counseling and Consultation for Persons with Special Needs
  • Working with counseling and consultation for persons with special needs agencies, concerned universities, and other organizations, the Department engages in "research on the development of method and system," "research on comprehensive assessment," and "research on counseling support for developmental disabilities and rare disabilities." These approaches are intended to ensure high-quality and consistent counseling and consultation for persons with special needs in all regions of the country.
