INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE

 NISE provides practical outcome of research in Japan toward the Asia and Pacific region and other foreign countries, performing investigation, analyses, and evaluation result of research projects through international and domestic seminars or collaborative research which cooperated with universities and research institutes.

-Promotion of cooperation, collaboration and exchange with international research institutes-

●International Comparative Research
  • NISE collects and analyzes information on educational systems for children with disabilities in foreign countries, and also conducts international comparisons. Information is collected through surveys, studies, and the “foreign correspondent system” designed to collect information from overseas experts in the target countries. NISE publishes the results of these activities to be shared domestically and internationally.
  • NISE sends researchers to international academic conferences to collect from and exchange information with various foreign countries.
●The 30th Asia-Pacific International Seminar on Education for Individuals with Special Needs
 NISE has been hosting international seminars for the development and the improvement of the education for individuals with special needs in the Asia and Pacific region since 1981, inviting the representative recommended by respective UNESCO National Commission.
 The seminar is held from December 6 to December 9 this year. The representatives are asked to provide and exchange information concerning the theme, and discuss on the issues.

International Contributions
-International contribution for development of special needs education-

●Cooperation to International Organizations including the OECD, and Government-affiliated Agencies including Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)
  • NISE supports the development of special needs education in many foreign countries, mainly in Asia, as a part of governmental international cooperation
  • NISE dispatches researchers to international conferences and other enterprises international organizations perform, including OECD, based on the request of the Japanese government.
  • NISE holds researcher training programs for foundation of research institute, on special needs education in Malaysia, based on Japan-Malaysia Economic Partnership Agreement.
  • NISE cooperates to run a training program for developing countries and provides technical knowledge to visiting foreign researchers from overseas, based on requests of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
●Hosting International Seminar and Research Exchange with Foreign Researchers under the Agreement of Exchange
  • NISE has concluded the Agreement on International Collaborative Research Projects, and exchanges information on special needs education, enforces staff exchange and holds international seminars between the research institutes in overseas.

Research Exchange

NISE sends researchers to participate in and to present research results at international academic conferences, NISE also invites, as well as welcomes, foreign researchers for research exchange.
